Beartooth Industries

Beartooth Industries Mission

At Beartooth Industries's Day/Work program there is a variety of work and activities available. People that attend Beartooth Industries may work jobs in the wood shop, building picnic tables, benches, planters and small projects like birdhouses. They may work at the Red Lodge Recycling Center which is located next to our building. They may also work jobs in the community such as on a janitorial crew that cleans the Red Lodge City Police Dept., Carnegie Library, and Red Lodge Public Rest Rooms. Other work performed by the people at Beartooth Industries includes crossing guard for Red Lodge Schools, shredding, and in-house janitorial tasks. Beartooth Industries attendees also participate in community integration activities like those described above in Red Lodge, Billings and Powell, WY.  People also work on budgeting skills, reading and writing skills and other academic activities.

RSD has two group homes located in Red Lodge, Carbon County’s largest city. Each home is licensed for 8 residents and fully accessible to mobility equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers. The kitchens at each home were remodeled and updated in 2012. There are three full bathrooms in each home. We have three vehicles for use, two of which are equip with hydraulic lifts for wheelchair accessibility.

Community integration activities are limited only by our imaginations. Red Lodge is host to many special events each year - about one per month - including, but not limited to National Ski Joring Finals, Home of Champions Rodeo, Winter Carnival at Red Lodge Mountain, The Christmas Stroll, Iron Horse Rodeo, Festival of Nations, Agility Trials and Events at the Dog Sports Arena, and the Beartooth Fun Run. Many Eagle Mount activities are located in Red Lodge including downhill and cross country skiing, snowboarding, and golf.

Red Lodge is only a couple hours from Yellowstone National Park and the starting point of the Beartooth Scenic Highway. There are excellent opportunities for camping, fishing and hiking abound. Red Lodge has a bowling alley, public pool, fitness centers, movie theater and indoor walking track. The local high school has many sports teams including basketball, football, volleyball, track and Xcountry open to the public for a reasonable entrance fee. Music and drama performances are free to the public at Red Lodge Schools. Churches and other community organizations hold events including farmers markets, craft fairs, holiday bazaars, harvest dinners, car shows, musical performances, and art shows, to name a few!

All in all, Red Lodge is an amazing community and we are happy to have projects like Red Lodge Recycling that will support not only a "Green Effort" but also all of it's community members.
